How to live a Yielded Life
Jesus’ life was perfectly aligned with the Father’s will. Jesus knew exactly what he came to this earth to do. He knew he would be hated and ultimately crucified for our sins. Nevertheless, he remained yielded to the Father’s will even when the weight of it felt too heavy to bare. The bible says Jesus was obedient to the point of death.
‘And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. ‘
Philippians 2:8 ESV
Jesus did nothing by accident. He sought the Father’s will for everything he did. There was a purpose and plan for everything he did and everywhere he went during his ministry.
‘So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. ‘
John 5:19 ESV
Jesus’ prayer in John 17 demonstrates his submission, dependence and intimate relationship with the Father.

Just as Jesus was submitted to the Father and did nothing independent of Him so are we to be submitted and dependent on Him. Jesus died for our sins, but we must die to our sinful nature.
When we receive the salvation of Jesus, we become a new creature. Our old sinful nature is nailed to the cross. We are no longer under the law of sin and death. Our new identify is formed in Christ because he now lives in us. Each day we must live by faith (not in our own human efforts) in the love and sacrifice of Jesus.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ‘
Galations 2:20 ESV
When I accepted the Lordship of Christ, then I have agreed that my life is no longer my own. I can no longer be governed by my self-will, my plans and desires. Instead I must align my thoughts, my will, plans, and desires with God’s will.
So, what does a yielded life look like? It looks exactly like Jesus. We live a yielded life by following Jesus’ example.
A Yielded life is a life that pleases God!
